Law 69 2169-IX “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning Exemption from Military Service of Certain Categories of Citizens” entered into force.

In particular, changes were made to Part 1 of Art. 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On mobilization training and mobilization”.

Thus, it has been established that conscripts and men who have a minor child (children) and a husband (wife) who is serving in the military for one of the types of military service specified in part Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”.

The new wording also sets out paragraphs 3 and 4 of the second part of Article 17 of the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service”, which stipulates that deferment of conscription for military service due to family circumstances is granted to conscripts who have:

– a child (children) under the age of 18 who is (are) brought up independently;

– a child under the age of three.

In addition, numerous amendments have been made to Article 26 of the Law on Military Duty and Military Service concerning discharge from military service. In particular, it has been established that female servicemen are discharged from military service due to pregnancy.
