‼️Probably everyone is familiar with vacancies in which gender and age are indicated. For example: “Women aged 25-35 are considered for the vacancy.”
From now on, the employer will pay UAH 65,000 for such a text to the state budget. For what? This is a penalty for discrimination.
On January 8 of this year, the Law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Advertising” on Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender” enters into force. In case of violation of the requirements of the law, the advertiser pays a fine in the amount of ten minimum wages.
And since in this case the employer is the customer of the advertisement about the vacancy, then he will bear the responsibility.
It is worth mentioning that since 1996, Ukraine has had a Law prohibiting any discrimination. ✍️ However, only now have they decided to punish violators financially.
📌Which items in vacancies will be fined?
– indication of the age of the candidates;
– job offer only to women/men (exception – specific work that can be performed exclusively by a person of a certain gender);
– race and skin color;
– political and religious preferences, membership in public associations;
– ethnic and social origin;
– information about property status;
– discrimination on the basis of language.
