Ukrainian swimmer Mykhailo Romanyshyn has set a national record – the 29-year-old athlete has managed to sail more than 900 kilometers across the Dnieper.

Mikhail started in the village of Straholissia, Kyiv region, on the border with Belarus, and finished in Kherson in 37 days.

The athlete sailed for 8 hours a day. During the swim across Ukraine, he stopped only for rest and food, spending the night on the shore – mostly in a tent, sometimes with locals. The coach and two fellow athletes were in the boat all the time.

Finished Michael 4 days later than planned because he had several times fallen into a storm, bypassed the area of hydroelectric power plants and swam against wind in reservoirs.

Despite the national record, the athlete is not going to reduce the load, so that there is no sharp difference for the body.

Now Romanyshyn has a new goal – to sail the Black Sea from Odessa to Istanbul.
