THE NUMBER OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS INCREASED IN KYIV DUE TO THE POWER OFF

It is known that due to the saving of electric energy in the city of Kyiv, there has been a mass turning off of street lighting and, most dangerously, the turning off of traffic lights at intersections with heavy traffic. Although these circumstances are temporary, they have already led to a significant increase in the number of road accidents.

The most vulnerable in this situation are pedestrians, who are the least visible on the road. Therefore, we urge pedestrians to carefully monitor their own actions when crossing the roadway where the traffic lights are not working and the situation on the road, and we advise drivers to observe the permitted speed regime in populated areas, avoid unnecessary maneuvers and accelerations, because this can lead to inevitable consequences.
